Shares of Tellurian (NASDAQ: TELL) tumbled more than 15% by 2:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday. Weighing on the liquified natural gas (LNG) stock was news that it closed a debt offering. Tellurian closed its previously announced public offering of senior notes.
Although short term relationships are erratic and sparse, this is the period band that contains most of the negative—although usually fleeting—relationships (shown by leftward facing arrows). The relationships link online activity increases to price falls (the converse is not observed). It is not surprising that occasionally discussion is associated with price falls, as negative events (e.g. blockchain bugs, and exchange hacks) are newsworthy in the community.

Binance has recently attracted regulator attention around the world. While Binance.US is a separate legal entity from the main Binance platform, it is 90% owned by Changpeng Zhao, who started and controls Binance.com, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. The NYT said it was regulatory attention in the U.S. over money laundering and tax issues combined with the common ownership that concerned potential investors. GreatPoint Ventures confirmed to the NYT it considered investing and declined.
According to the BLS, rising energy costs fueled a rise in CPI, but for at least six months, analysts have tracked the rising costs of food and other goods. The current CPI is the highest it has been since October 1990. Core inflation, a figure that ignores the impact of the rising cost of goods, showed a 4.6% increase, a level not seen since 1991.
