An Instagram ad by the influencer was criticised in a speech by FCA chairman Charles Randell.

DeFi stands for decentralised finance token. They are very complex but essentially aim to disrupt the finance world to enable people to follow and lend in peer-to-peer networks, without needing a bank.
Safemoon launched on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) on March 8, which saw a 200-time increase within less than a month. That is to say, if someone invested 10,000 of the native token RMB 10,000 on March 3, they will have 2,000,000 RMB in April. Although Safemoon’s price has fallen to $0.000003, the investors may still be exposed to high rewards if they buy Safemoon now.
Usually, when you buy stocks or cryptocurrency, the price chart is a valuable tool in your analysis. However, the combination of Safemoon’s short price history and low liquidity means that the price chart doesn’t tell us as much as it would with other cryptos. The huge spikes in April and May have been followed by a sustained decline, which has led the price to where it is right now.
Nelson primarily invests in low cost index funds because “I can see history on that,” she says. The newness of cryptocurrency and lack of trackable data make her wary of these crazy swings.

(REUTERS) 1 min read . Updated: 21 Oct 2021, 09:54 PM IST Bloomberg The price of Bitcoin appeared to rapidly — and only temporarily — plunge about 87% on Binance’s U.S. exchange Thursday morning, sinking to as low as $8,200 from around $65,000. The price did nothing like that on other venues, and on Binance the level almost immediately snapped back to where it had been. The plunge occurred at 7:34 a.m. New York time, according to Binance’s website. Volume on the exchange in that minute was 592.8 Bitcoins, which are worth just shy of $40 million at current prevailing prices. Mistakes like this happen throughout finance when, for instance, traders mess up details of their intended trades, entering the wrong price or order size. An erroneously large trade, as one example, can overwhelm an exchange’s order book, leading to a quick and massive decline. The entire U.S. stock market famously flash crashed back in May 2010, though equities have mostly avoided trouble since that era. This is the latest in a string of recent high-profile trading problems in crypto. Synthetify, a new decentralized exchange, was forced to shut down for a while earlier this month shortly after its debut because of bad data provided by the Pyth Network, a price feed backed by some of the world’s most well-known trading and exchange firms. Pyth malfunctioned another time in September, erroneously making it appear that Bitcoin had crashed 90%.
Cook didn't specify which coin he owns, like bitcoin or ethereum, but he said Tuesday that the space is something he's been interested in for a while.
But classifying crypto as an investment is complicated, too. It doesn’t quite fit the mold of a traditional stock or bond, and while cryptocurrencies do share characteristics of commodities like gold — they can be bought and sold for cash and as derivatives based on expected future value — they have no inherent physical value or use.
Currently, the global crypto market cap stands at $2.87 trillion, an increase of 4.70%. Other cryptocurrencies were also trading in the green.
One key point to note about Safemoon crypto is that the developers haven’t really described any real-world use cases yet. The Safemoon protocol was hyped hugely by celebrities back in May, causing retail investors to jump on the bandwagon and push price higher. Following this, the price fell dramatically, leading many to claim that Safemoon was a ‘pump and dump’ scheme designed to make certain investors rich.
Due to this, the process to invest in Safemoon involves transferring funds from a TrustWallet to Pancake Swap and then exchanging them into Safemoon. This process can be hard to follow for beginner investors, so it’s likely better to wait until Safemoon is added to a reliable and licensed broker.
But whatever new products are produced, they will now have a harder time struggling with acceptance. Whether we like it or not, message and image are important.
While paying for things in cryptocurrencies doesn’t make sense for most people right now, more retailers accepting payments might change that landscape in the future. It’ll likely be much longer before it’ll be a smart financial decision to spend Bitcoin on goods or services, but further institutional adoption could bring about more use-cases for everyday users, and in turn, have an impact on crypto prices. Nothing is guaranteed, but if you buy cryptocurrency as a long-term store of value, the more “real world” uses it has, the more likely demand and value will increase.
