You can do a number of things with cryptocurrencies, depending on which one you own. On the most basic level, the definition of a cryptocurrency asset is that it can be used to send value from one person to another or to pay for goods and services.
This year we saw a similar fight break out–this time over bitcoin cash. This coin, mind you, is not bitcoin, though it is built on the same architecture. It was created by a group of miners who disagreed with some of the fundamentals of the initial bitcoin system, and so they forked a new blockchain and went their own way. In terms of market capitalization, bitcoin cash has always been one of the top cryptocurrencies–in the ranks of Ethereum and XRP.
While the biggest cryptocurrency trades strong, its market dominance has been dipping as investors shift to altcoins, said CoinDCX Research Team.
But some say the BITO ETF is not enough, because while the fund is linked to Bitcoin, it does not actually hold the crypto directly. The fund instead holds Bitcoin futures contracts. While Bitcoin futures follow the general trends of the actual crypto, experts say it may not track the price of Bitcoin directly. For now, investors must continue waiting for an ETF that holds Bitcoin directly.

At the end of 2017 and beginning of 2018, more people–especially those in the mainstream finance world–were paying attention to bitcoin and cryptocurrency trading.
