The people, who declined to be identified as the information was private, said they expected China's cyberspace regulator to finalise any penalties on the company in December. In July, the powerful Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) ordered app stores to remove 25 mobile apps operated by Didi - just days after the ride-hailing giant listed in New York.

Safemoon has a few unique features that have attracted both praise and criticism. For example, the Safemoon smart contract charges a 10% exit fee for holders who choose to sell. Half of this fee is ‘burned’, while the other is redistributed to remaining token holders, theoretically increasing the value of their holdings over time.

“Altcoin” refers to any blockchain-based cryptocurrency that isn’t Bitcoin. The term “altcoin” was coined as a shorthand for “alternative to Bitcoin,” and the vast majority of altcoins were created to improve Bitcoin somehow. Namecoin, Peercoin, Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum and USD Coin (USDC) are examples of altcoins.
And, importantly, just because cryptocurrency is secure does not make it safe. As much as some of the recent popularity of cryptocurrency is driven by investors’ belief in its value, that value is still based on speculation. As a project makes technical progress, it is likely to have a community form around it over time, increasing online activity and also demand, and hence price, of the particular cryptocurrency. An interesting avenue of future work would be to consider the coherence between price and technical progress (via looking at each projects source code repository—these are available as cryptocurrency projects are generally open-source).
