Another institutional hit for bitcoin–which probably had the most sustained effect–was the SEC’s refusal to approve a bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). This would be a path for more mainstream people in finance to dabble with blockchain; it would allow investors to dip their toes in bitcoin without owning the actual asset. Not only that, but it would make bitcoin available on the most prominent financial markets. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), however, has yet to allow such a fund to exist–mostly because it is unable to monitor crypto-transactions in order to avoid market manipulation.
It can in addition be observed from Fig 7 that as the period band considered increases, the overall (bubble and non-bubble) coherence values generally get stronger, suggesting online factors have a medium to long term link with price.

For the sake of clarity an explicit definition of short, medium, and long term is required. In this work short term refers to the 2–4 and 4–8 day period bands. Medium term refers to the 8–16 and 16–32 day bands. Long term will be used to refer to the 32–64, 64–128, 128–256 and 256–512 day bands. The short, medium, and long term bands will be considered separately to begin with, and then considered collectively alongside the results of the GSADF bubble test.
This positive view will invalidate if the price turns down from the current level or the overhead resistance and plummets below the support line of the wedge.
