Some experts have already expressed concern that the inclusion of the Binance Coin on the platform may prove controversial in the United States. While Binance.US is described as a subsidiary, its business model might draw attention from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission based on the fact that BNB token acts as both a security and a utility token. As such, it could pass the so-called Howey test for being security, thus potentially becoming a snag on the Binance’s path to establishing itself in the US.
Trading fees are extremely important when evaluating where to trade. While some exchanges like Coinbase (Coinbase Pro is much cheaper) and Gemini are known for being rather expensive, Binance is known for offering some of the lowest cryptocurrency trading fees in the world. Like all cryptocurrencies, the majors are digital assets that secure and verify transactions using computer science and complex mathematics, known as cryptography. Unlike traditional (‘fiat’) currencies, they are not currently issued or backed by a central authority such as a government. Instead, they run across a network of computers and are underpinned by blockchain technology – a permanent record of transactions that cannot be altered without the consensus of the network.
Mining computers compile valid transactions into a new block and attempt to generate the cryptographic link to the previous block by finding a solution to a complex algorithm. When a computer succeeds in generating the link, it adds the block to its version of the blockchain file and broadcasts the update across the network.
