When that’s the case and demand increases, the price of that underlying asset goes up. Roughly speaking, this is the simplest way to address how the prices of cryptos fluctuate.

It’s always hard to know exactly what is driving crypto prices given the opacity of the market and a certain rather large player whose name rhymes with weather, but we think it’s probably partly related to the same market madness that drove GameStop to da moon, as well as to a desire for an alternative to central bank-issued money due to worries about the government overreach (by means of Covid restrictions), and also endorsements from chief executives at the likes of PayPal, Tesla and Twitter/Square.
One investor who wasn’t deterred was Barstool Sports Inc. founder Dave Portnoy. In May, he announced to his 2.6 million followers on Twitter that he’d bought US$40,000 worth, despite saying that SafeMoon could be a Ponzi scheme, a scam in which early investors’ returns are paid with funds coming from later buyers that collapses when new deposits dry up or too many people try to cash out.

Dogecoin is thus notable as an experiment in “inflationary cryptocurrency,” and experts are watching it closely to see how its long-term value trajectory differs from that of other cryptocurrencies.
SafeMoon app has crossed 600,000 downloads. The team has announced that Bitcoin and Dogecoin will soon be added to the wallet. The partnership with Unicrypt, the multi-chain decentralized protocol, has kept V2 consolidation on track.
Yet some crypto watchers have raised red flags over SafeMoon’s unusual structure. It charges a 10 per cent fee to buy tokens and another 10 per cent to sell — almost unheard of in the digital currency world. Half of these fees are paid to owners as an incentive to keep holding and the other half goes into a liquidity pool controlled by the developers. SafeMoon calls itself a DeFi token, or one that uses decentralized finance to govern functions through software, but it has a chief executive officer and chief operating officer. Critics also worry about the discretionary nature of the “manual” coin burns used to adjust its circulation. Fig 8(A) shows many significant positive correlations between Bitcoin and Litecoin. This is an expected relationship given Litecoin is technically very similar to Bitcoin (Litecoin is essentially Bitcoin with faster block confirmations). Overall, there is no clear leader in the relationship. However during the interval of the late 2013 price bubble (where Bitcoin and Litecoin reached around $1000 and $40 respectively) it can be seen that Bitcoin is leading Litecoin (slightly downward facing arrows across all periods).
Musk’s decision signifies a sharp u-turn for Tesla who only started accepting Bitcoin as payment for its services in February 2021.
The global crypto market cap fell more than 2 per cent to $2.82 trillion mark compared to the last day. However, the total crypto market volume jumped over 31 per cent to $176.91 billion.
In the wake of both Coincheck’s hack–as well as a big one that hit the South Korean exchange Coinrail–governments in East Asia began to crack down. Over the course of a few months, China, Japan, and South Korea all announced different measures to better regulate crypto-trading. The world was watching to see if this new technology would hit the mainstream–and government crackdowns following gigantic hacks helped poison the public perception.
Savvy cryptocurrency users are therefore maniacally protective of their private keys, typically storing them in multiple digital locations — although generally not Internet-connected, for security purposes — and on paper or in other physical form.
