Lummis paid $330 for her first bitcoin back in 2013, and today it's worth around $60,000. She's bought more of it since, which means Lummis stands to gain or lose from the policy she's helping to shape. Lummis wants Wyoming to become one of the world's crypto capitals.
In 2016, this became apparent with the DAO hack. One way to fix the problem was to implement what’s known as a “hard fork,” which would essentially update the Ethereum-based software to fix the technical gaffe that caused the hack to begin with. But DAO users had to agree to this change, and there were dissenters. Though the hard fork was approved, it created two active blockchains with two different sets of rules. Ultimately, this hack–coupled with the inability to deal with it–caused the DAO to end in 2016.

SafeMoon V2 involves the launch of an upgraded contract that has a change to the coin’s consolidation formula. Consolidation is a DeFi feature that the SafeMoon teams likens to reverse stock splits with the added idea that it will be beneficial for investors. It is a way for the team to “tidy up the numbers” without changing the actual ownership percentages among investors.
Safemoon investing will be made much more accessible if this happens, leading to more accurate price data. Time will tell whether this happens, but keep an eye out in the months ahead.
