The decision to buy cryptocurrency should always have a long-term outlook, as crypto prices can be particularly volatile. Safemoon is no different, as in its short lifespan, the price has already exhibited some significant price swings. The first cryptocurrency was bitcoin. The bitcoin domain was registered in 2008, but the first transaction took place in 2009. It was developed by someone called ‘Satoshi Nakamoto’. However, there is speculation that Nakamoto is a pseudonym as the bitcoin creator is notoriously secretive, and no one knows whether ‘he’ is a person or a group.
While this is a critical security feature that reduces theft and unauthorized use, it’s also draconian. Losing your private key is the digital asset equivalent of throwing a wad of cash into a trash incinerator.
There was also a big debate on Safemoon tokenomics. Most of the competing coins have a more attractive and innovative tokenomic than Safemoon. While the Bitrise coin has an automated redemption and burn process, Safemoon burns manually. This means that the liquidity regulation of the Safemoon token is less transparent.

In the meantime, the Indian government is considering a middle path on cryptocurrencies, as it finalises legislation on the virtual asset to be introduced in the upcoming winter session of Parliament. The hard-line stance for an outright ban of cryptos is not being found feasible in view of large investments in such instruments by Indians, and these unregulated virtual currencies are also unlikely to be allowed as a legal tender.
