Posts per day and new authors can be retrieved from each subreddit programmatically; each post is timestamped, so historical time series can be generated by iterating through the posts. Posts per day are used here rather than comments per day. Each post on Reddit can have a number of associated comments in a one-to-many type relationship. However, examples exist where huge numbers of comments are generated that are unrelated to market activity; for example, sometimes people give away small amounts of cryptocurrency to everyone who comments with their public blockchain wallet address; this causes a huge spike in comments (wavelet coherence between comments per day and price were also generated, but as was expected showed less significant relationships than posts per day and price).
When it comes to fees, both platforms have the same standard fee of 0.1%. The difference is that additional fees vary, depending on whether you are within the U.S. or not. For example, fees for bank transfers to your Binance account are free outside the U.S. However, depending on your method of transfer, U.S. users may pay up to 4.5%.
The process is more complicated than this, but when most coins are mined, the mining rate decreases so that the total supply is only replenished to account for lost units. If you’re aware of basic economics, you’ll know that supply and demand determine prices. For the sake of our discussion, let’s consider supply to be limited or highly restricted.
When you buy cryptocurrencies via an exchange, you purchase the coins themselves. You’ll need to create an exchange account, put up the full value of the asset to open a position, and store the cryptocurrency tokens in your own wallet until you’re ready to sell.
The good news is that the glare of public opinion will eventually dissipate, and that as the spotlight diminishes, real developers will find themselves in a healthier environment within which to do the work needed to unlock this technology’s potential. We saw a similar period of constructive building during the 2014-2016 hiatus.

I present a model of cryptocurrency price formation that endogenizes both the financial market for coins and the fee-based market for blockchain space. A cryptocurrency has two distinctive features: a price determined by the extent of its usage as money, and a blockchain structure that restricts settlement capacity. Limited settlement space creates competition between users of the currency, so speculative activity can crowd out monetary usage. This crowding-out undermines the ability of a cryptocurrency to act as a medium of payment, lowering its value. Higher speculative demand can reduce prices, contrary to standard economic models. Crowding-out also raises the riskiness of investing in cryptocurrency, explaining high observed price volatility. 05 November 2021 Refinancing cross-subsidies in the mortgage... Cryptocurrencies are an alternative to traditional money. Today, some outlets accept cryptocurrencies as a form of payment. However, they bear little resemblance to other asset classes because they are intangible and extremely volatile. They are mainly used by traders for speculating on rises and falls in value.
When that’s the case and demand increases, the price of that underlying asset goes up. Roughly speaking, this is the simplest way to address how the prices of cryptos fluctuate.
