NEW YORK (AP) — A cryptocurrency company launched by partners of a major Wall Street trading firm said Tuesday that it has snagged the support of billionaire investor Steven A. Cohen, as big names from the traditional financial world continue to embrace the industry surrounding crypto.
Since then “the group has had a decidedly low profile. It has an active online fundraising page, but its website is offline. A Facebook page is ‘liked’ by only nine people. Its Twitter account has zero followers and only one tweet from April, soliciting input for a survey on veterans’ concerns. A search of media databases shows no instance of the group being mentioned in news stories.”

Exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Equatorial Guinea are expected to resume after more than six weeks of disruption following an incident at the Alba gas processing facility, trading sources and the plant operator said. Sources have told Reuters in October that force majeure has been declared at the facility and some LNG cargoes have been deferred or canceled. The West African Punta Europa LNG plant is expected to export its first cargo since Sept. 25.
