Meanwhile, even the most enthusiastic bitcoin evangelists are realizing that a retooling is in order. Michael J. Casey, a senior adviser for blockchain research at MIT’s Digital Currency Initiative, recently wrote about how the crypto-winter has arrived, but it may lead to better things down the line:
Although short term relationships are erratic and sparse, this is the period band that contains most of the negative—although usually fleeting—relationships (shown by leftward facing arrows). The relationships link online activity increases to price falls (the converse is not observed). It is not surprising that occasionally discussion is associated with price falls, as negative events (e.g. blockchain bugs, and exchange hacks) are newsworthy in the community.

The SafeMoon price is not joining in the broader market rally today and is down about 4%. Over a longer term view, however, SafeMoon is doing just fine. Since October, the SafeMoon price has rallied over 160%. The recent declines could be investors taking some profits off the table in a broader market that is trading at all-time highs.
Dogecoin, at the time of writing, has a market price of close to $0.216 according to CoinMarketCap - the result of an 8,325.23% increase in value since the start of 2021.
