Bitcoin is the world’s most widely used cryptocurrency and is generally credited with bringing the movement into the mainstream.
Safemoon crypto is not a coin, but a token. It has seen major price rises movements over just a few months in 2021. The price surged by tens of thousands of percent in April and May, then lost most of those gains by August. Such volatility is far from unusual in the crypto space.

In the wake of both Coincheck’s hack–as well as a big one that hit the South Korean exchange Coinrail–governments in East Asia began to crack down. Over the course of a few months, China, Japan, and South Korea all announced different measures to better regulate crypto-trading. The world was watching to see if this new technology would hit the mainstream–and government crackdowns following gigantic hacks helped poison the public perception.
We also consider two additional factors that account for the finding that in some periods prices drift away from fundamentals. The first factor is the return of Bitcoin. We argue that Bitcoin, being the largest and most traded cryptocurrency, is the most perceptible to sentiment and speculative trading by investors. Thus, as a factor, it can capture periods when trading forces unrelated to fundamentals are the strongest. The second factor is a cryptocurrency price momentum factor that we construct following the seminal work of Jegadeesh and Titman (1993). Momentum effects have been linked to investor psychology (e.g. Barberis et al. 1998).

Other cryptocurrencies are also now strong investment options and the Shiba Inu-themed Dogecoin, whose symbol is DOGE, which was initially created as a joke, is now one of the best known tokens. It is now priced at ₹21.14, down from ₹21.83, a change of -3.15% in 24-hours. It’s market cap is currently ₹2.6T.
