World's largest cryptocurrency Bitcoin was trading over 4% higher today. The price of Bitcoin rose 4.63% to $68,351 on Coinmarketcap. Market cap of the cryptocurrency reached $1,288.07 billion.

Cryptocurrencies are often traded in lots – batches of cryptocurrency tokens used to standardise the size of trades. As cryptocurrencies are very volatile, lots tend to be very small: most are just one unit of the base cryptocurrency. However, some cryptocurrencies are traded in bigger lots.
With the rise in artificial intelligence and automation, armies of trading bots can theoretically be used to push a crypto’s price up by creating an artificial demand for the coin. As always, you should do some research to make sure any crypto you’re thinking of investing in isn’t being artificially boosted by bots.

While its price swiftly dropped to below $65,000 after hitting the new all-time high Wednesday, Bitcoin’s latest new record is an impressive feat considering just a year ago the currency hovered around $15,000 per coin. Ethereum — the next most popular crypto — has seen a recent surge as well, and on Wednesday notched another new all-time high of its own above $4,800.
Facebook’s closely guarded Libra project could be the first true cryptocurrency alternative to fiat currencies, although its growing pains suggest that true parity remains well in the future.
When that’s the case and demand increases, the price of that underlying asset goes up. Roughly speaking, this is the simplest way to address how the prices of cryptos fluctuate.
