The spread is the difference between the buy and sell prices quoted for a cryptocurrency. If you want to open a long position, you trade at the buy price, which is slightly above the market price. The CFTC investigation is directed at Binance, even though Americans must use Binance.US instead. And in May, the Department of Justice and Internal Revenue Service commenced money laundering investigations related to the company.
