If this type of extreme drop bothers you, you may have too much riding on your crypto investments. You should only invest what you’re OK losing. The global crypto market cap fell more than 2 per cent to $2.82 trillion mark compared to the last day. However, the total crypto market volume jumped over 31 per cent to $176.91 billion.
Dogecoin, founded in 2012 as a joke, has drawn widespread attention from high-profile personalities such as billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk and rapper Snoop Dogg.
“One of our institutional traders indicated to us that they had a bug in their trading algorithm, which appears to have caused the sell-off,” Binance.US said in the statement. “We are continuing to look into the event, but understand from the trader that they have now fixed their bug and that the issue appears to have been resolved.”
We couldn’t find any information from Binance.US about its security measures and protections, and the company did not respond to a request for comment. The most descriptive information on the Binance.US site is the following statement, from its homepage: “We use state-of-the-art storage technology to protect your cryptocurrency and USD assets.”
