(REUTERS) 1 min read . Updated: 21 Oct 2021, 09:54 PM IST Bloomberg The price of Bitcoin appeared to rapidly — and only temporarily — plunge about 87% on Binance’s U.S. exchange Thursday morning, sinking to as low as $8,200 from around $65,000. The price did nothing like that on other venues, and on Binance the level almost immediately snapped back to where it had been. The plunge occurred at 7:34 a.m. New York time, according to Binance’s website. Volume on the exchange in that minute was 592.8 Bitcoins, which are worth just shy of $40 million at current prevailing prices. Mistakes like this happen throughout finance when, for instance, traders mess up details of their intended trades, entering the wrong price or order size. An erroneously large trade, as one example, can overwhelm an exchange’s order book, leading to a quick and massive decline. The entire U.S. stock market famously flash crashed back in May 2010, though equities have mostly avoided trouble since that era. This is the latest in a string of recent high-profile trading problems in crypto. Synthetify, a new decentralized exchange, was forced to shut down for a while earlier this month shortly after its debut because of bad data provided by the Pyth Network, a price feed backed by some of the world’s most well-known trading and exchange firms. Pyth malfunctioned another time in September, erroneously making it appear that Bitcoin had crashed 90%.

You can think of the liquidity pool as a body of water that people are constantly taking from and adding to. If the pool is the size of a bucket, even a few cupfuls in or out affect how much water is left, and therefore how much you pay for it. If the pool is the size of a lake, even thousands of cupfuls in or out have no measurable effect on the water level in the lake.
It is also important to mention that Bitrise is one of the coins that Safemoon lost whales to some time ago. This is just one sign that Safemoon is in deep trouble.

If buyers sustain the price above $67,000, the BTC/USDT pair could pick up momentum and accelerate to the next target objective at $75,000. A break and close above this resistance may open the doors for a possible rally to $89,476.12.
You can earn rewards through the exchange by holding certain coins in your Binance.US account — a strategy called “staking.” According to Binance.US, staking helps support the operations of these coins’ blockchains.
Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin have traditionally had little price correlation with the stock market in the United States, so owning some can help diversify your portfolio. If you believe that cryptocurrency usage will grow in popularity over time, it's probably a good idea to invest in crypto as part of a balanced portfolio. Make sure you have an investment thesis for each cryptocurrency you buy. This will help you understand why the currency will stand the test of time.
NEW BUSINESS: Binance.US, the American arm of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, hired its first lobbying firms last month, newly filed disclosures show, as policymakers in Washington face calls to rein in the rapidly growing and mostly unregulated industry. Hogan Lovells’ Ivan Zapien, a Democratic lobbyist who previously was chief of staff to now-Senate Foreign Relations Chair Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), and former House GOP aides Aaron Cutler and Chase Kroll will lobby for the exchange.
Tokens in the liquidity pools are being reduced regularly using the buyback process. However, the buying and burning of tokens are automated. Bitrise cryptocurrency has become the first-ever to include automatic buyback with a real use case of payment systems. All other competing tokens, including Safemoon and Shiba Inu, are buying and burning tokens manually.

One key point to note about Safemoon crypto is that the developers haven’t really described any real-world use cases yet. The Safemoon protocol was hyped hugely by celebrities back in May, causing retail investors to jump on the bandwagon and push price higher. Following this, the price fell dramatically, leading many to claim that Safemoon was a ‘pump and dump’ scheme designed to make certain investors rich.
