But over the past year, Binance has matured and begun to offer more formalized services. Following fiat currency exchange launches in the U.K., Uganda and Singapore, Binance is opening a dedicated U.S. exchange to avoid uncertainty around its legality.
Earlier, we presented a chart indicating how Binance has gone from essentially a non-player in the U.S. crypto market a few quarters ago to now doing significant volume. With the recent hiring of Brian Brooks, who certainly has the connections to tap into the right areas, Binance.US could be set up for a very bright future.

Yet tales of meme-coin holders becoming millionaires have attracted new waves of retail investors to crypto — along with a growing number of nefarious players. In May, the Federal Trade Commission tallied a record number of crypto investment scams, with Americans’ losses totalling around US$80 million since October.

In many ways, 2021 has been a “breakthrough,” says Dave Abner, head of global development at Gemini, a popular cryptocurrency exchange. “There’s tremendous focus and attention being paid to [the crypto industry].”
Bill Noble, chief technical analyst at TokenMetrics, a cryptocurrency analytics platform, thinks the price of Bitcoin will climb throughout the rest of the year. “I think it’s more likely Bitcoin goes to $75,000 than $25,000,” he says.
