These are just two of the cryptocurrencies that challenge Safemoon’s dominance, and some, like Bitrise, face very stiff competition against Safemoon on the basis of the products on offer, among many other features. From the powerful wallet to exchanges, among many other products, the coin is one of Safemoon’s toughest competitors.
"The U.S. historically has made very clear regulations, so we hope that will clear up," he said. "At the same time, some early adopters in this space will be better rewarded. There are uncertainties in the regulatory space, but we're willing to try."

But classifying crypto as an investment is complicated, too. It doesn’t quite fit the mold of a traditional stock or bond, and while cryptocurrencies do share characteristics of commodities like gold — they can be bought and sold for cash and as derivatives based on expected future value — they have no inherent physical value or use.
“This is a legitimate technology–it’s going to expand,” he says, “My longer-term view is nowhere near where some of [my current] views are.” It could even perhaps hit $10,000 again, he says. But that will probably take a few years. For now, we wait and see.
