One investor who wasn’t deterred was Barstool Sports Inc. founder Dave Portnoy. Bitcoin’s coherence values appear noticeably less affected by bubble and non-bubble regimes, especially over short and medium terms (2–4, 4–8, 8–16 and 16–32). The non-bubble coherence values are similar to those of the other cryptocurrencies, but the bubble regime values do not reach a similar magnitude to the other cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin’s (BTC) price hit another all-time high at $69,000, while Ether (ETH) continued its long slog toward $5,000 after reaching a new high at $4,868 earlier on Wednesday. Shortly after hitting this fresh milestone, however, traders began taking profit, leading to a nearly $7,000 drop, which plunged BTC’s price below $63,000.
“This is a legitimate technology–it’s going to expand,” he says, “My longer-term view is nowhere near where some of [my current] views are.” It could even perhaps hit $10,000 again, he says. But that will probably take a few years. For now, we wait and see.
