Using data from a prominent blockchain research firm, Coinmetrics.io, we explore the relationship between prices, computing power (measured by the hashrate), and network (measured by the number of unique active users). We focus on five major mineable cryptocurrencies (i.e. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, Litecoin, and Dash). In some of our test, we expand our data to include an additional 33 cryptocurrencies. Our sample period spans from 7 August 2015 to 25 January 2019.

This is the latest in a string of recent high-profile trading problems in crypto. Synthetify, a new decentralized exchange, was forced to shut down for a while earlier this month shortly after its debut because of bad data provided by the Pyth Network, a price feed backed by some of the world's most well-known trading and exchange firms. Pyth malfunctioned another time in September, erroneously making it appear that Bitcoin had crashed 90%.

The cryptocurrencies prices are highly volatile compared with the traditional currency pairs and assets in the foreign exchange market due to fluctuations in the interest of the public. This factor is associated with the user and we must add the absence of current regulation and its constant pressure from governments. These factors make the volatility of the digital currencies constant, modifying the Cryptocurrencies Market Prices and affecting values of such cryptocurrencies as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Cardano, Stellar Lumens, VeChain, Litecoin or Chainlink, among others.
Despite its size and name recognition, Binance has had issues with regulators. In 2017, Binance left China and re-located to Japan and Taiwan before eventually moving to Malta. However, in February 2020, after Malta announced that Binance was not actually within its jurisdiction, the exchange quickly changed positions and declared that it doesn’t have a headquarters because Bitcoin doesn’t have a central headquarters.
While the platform has started accepting account registrations and deposits/withdrawals of cryptocurrencies, its services do not yet cover the entirety of the US market, as the following states have been excluded from its support as of the time of writing the review (September 19, 2019):
