Another institutional hit for bitcoin–which probably had the most sustained effect–was the SEC’s refusal to approve a bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). This would be a path for more mainstream people in finance to dabble with blockchain; it would allow investors to dip their toes in bitcoin without owning the actual asset. Not only that, but it would make bitcoin available on the most prominent financial markets. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), however, has yet to allow such a fund to exist–mostly because it is unable to monitor crypto-transactions in order to avoid market manipulation.

It seems all too fitting that Facebook’s plans to launch a digital coin were leaked in the second-to-last week of a year that saw the tech giant’s reputation pummeled and cryptocurrencies crash and burn. It’s like grilling a shit sandwich over a dumpster fire.
After an initial sharp share price increase of 910% in April, the crypto is currently valued at £0.000003 after recovering 7.4% in the last 24 hours (22-23 June).

SafeMoon doesn't tout itself as a cryptocurrency but instead as a DeFi token, a decentralised finance token. DeFi’s aim is to bring about disruption to the financial world and enable people to lend in peer-to-peer networks without needing a physical bank.
About 15 years later, an accomplished software engineer named Wei Dai published a white paper on b-money, a virtual currency architecture that included many of the basic components of modern cryptocurrencies, such as complex anonymity protections and decentralization.
In return for their services, they take a small cut of each transaction’s value — usually less than 1%.
It’s definitely possible that the SafeMoon price can reach a dollar in value at some point in the future. However, it’s worth pointing out that even the most optimistic long-term SafeMoon price prediction sees it valued at less than a cent in seven years from now. Currency.com

Cryptocurrency trading is a new, and growing, feature of the crypto world. Trading is separate from crypto’s use as a monetary system. Instead, users buy and sell cryptocurrencies as they would buy and sell shares of a company. Purchasing stock grants gives you ownership in a company, whereas purchasing a token grants you ownership of that cryptocurrency. In the U.S. tax system, cryptocurrency transactions are viewed in the same way as stock trading transactions. This reflects how most users are making money from the crypto world.
We can speculate on what value cryptocurrency may have for investors in the coming months and years (and many will), but the reality is it’s still a new and speculative investment, without much history on which to base predictions. No matter what a given expert thinks or says, no one really knows. That’s why it’s important to only invest what you’re prepared to lose, and stick to more conventional investments for long-term wealth building.
