Since 2017 Binance has grown quickly to reach its current position. However, the rise of this crypto giant was not smooth. In the quickly changing environment of cryptocurrency, government regulations are often several years behind the cutting edge. This was the case for Binance, which came into repeated conflict with government regulations of multiple countries in the years after it was founded, including, eventually, the United States. Originally founded in China, Binance has since moved its headquarters several times.
PoS, on the other hand, runs on staking. In the staking system, rewards are distributed to help run the network by holding assets in certain designated wallets. A number of PoS assets also allow for masternodes — a more complicated staking process that usually requires a certain minimum number of coins.

We further explore the significance of cryptocurrency fundamentals at the aggregate market level using traditional asset pricing tests. For this analysis, we construct risk factors that are based on aggregate values of computing power and network. We denote the aggregate computing power factor with ACP and aggregate network factor with ANET. The innovation in constructing these factors is that we express them in cryptocurrency return units following the factor mimicking portfolio approach (Knez et al. 1994, Lamont 2001, Vassalou 2003).
