Cryptocurrencies are often traded in lots – batches of cryptocurrency tokens used to standardise the size of trades. As cryptocurrencies are very volatile, lots tend to be very small: most are just one unit of the base cryptocurrency. However, some cryptocurrencies are traded in bigger lots.

It’s always hard to know exactly what is driving crypto prices given the opacity of the market and a certain rather large player whose name rhymes with weather, but we think it’s probably partly related to the same market madness that drove GameStop to da moon, as well as to a desire for an alternative to central bank-issued money due to worries about the government overreach (by means of Covid restrictions), and also endorsements from chief executives at the likes of PayPal, Tesla and Twitter/Square.
Brian Shroder, who was previously an executive at Ant Group Co. and Uber Technologies Inc., will oversee the crypto exchange’s strategy, execution, fundraising, business and corporate development, and manage its legal, human resources and product and technology functions, the company said in a statement. Brian Brooks, who had been CEO, resigned recently just months into his tenure amid a slew of compliance setbacks and regulatory scrutiny tied to the crypto exchange’s sister company.

Ripple (XRP) broke and closed above the overhead resistance at $1.24 on Nov. 8, signaling that bulls are attempting a comeback. The bears tried to pull the price back below $1.24 but failed to sustain the lower levels.
When the hard fork arrived–and participants had to choose which path to take–the entire cryptocurrency market dropped. This is very likely what caused bitcoin to drop from the $6,000 range to around the $3,000-$4,000 range. Which brings us to today, with the cryptocurrency bottoming out at less than 80% of what it was a year ago.
I present a model of cryptocurrency price formation that endogenizes both the financial market for coins and the fee-based market for blockchain space. A cryptocurrency has two distinctive features: a price determined by the extent of its usage as money, and a blockchain structure that restricts settlement capacity. Limited settlement space creates competition between users of the currency, so speculative activity can crowd out monetary usage. This crowding-out undermines the ability of a cryptocurrency to act as a medium of payment, lowering its value. Higher speculative demand can reduce prices, contrary to standard economic models. Crowding-out also raises the riskiness of investing in cryptocurrency, explaining high observed price volatility. 05 November 2021 Refinancing cross-subsidies in the mortgage... On the other hand, if the price turns down from the overhead resistance, it will suggest that traders are defending the level aggressively. The bears will then make one more attempt to pull the price down to the 20-day exponential moving average (EMA) ($566).

Billed as the mother of all cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin which is a decentralised digital currency was created by someone called Satoshi Nakamoto (possibly a pseudonym) in 2009. As with most cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin is without a central bank or single administrator that can be sent from user to user on the peer-to-peer Bitcoin network without the need for intermediaries. Transactions are verified by network nodes through cryptography and recorded in a public distributed ledger called a Blockchain, according to IANS report.
