RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (AP) — An employee cost a New York county at least $6,000 in electricity bills by allegedly secretly installing dozens of machines at his workplace in a cryptocurrency scheme, authorities said Wednesday, announcing charges against him.
Cryptocurrency prices can move in spectacular fashion, and there are a variety of triggers for such volatility. Here are a few of them:
.
Virtual currencies. Like fiat currency, virtual currencies such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ether are intended as a medium of exchange that enables two parties to transact business. But there are important differences: No physical coins or bills. Virtual currencies exist only in computer code. Except for visual representation of Bitcoin and altcoins in advertising and displays, and coin-like tokens that may be produced for marketing purposes, there are no actual coins or bills. Not legal tender. Virtual currencies are not legal tender and are not issued or backed by a government. However, many virtual currencies, which are called convertible virtual currencies, can be redeemed for fiat currency on a number of exchanges. No regulation. Virtual currencies are not regulated by any government agency or authority. However, regulation is being considered, especially where virtual currencies function as securities when they’re used to raise capital and when traded on exchanges.

OK perhaps that’s a little far-fetched. But what is behind crypto’s crazy climb over the past 18 months, we hear you ask? We don’t mean to suggest that the pandemic hasn’t been involved, because we think it has, but not in the way that this chart criminal implies — not, in other words, because it’s some kind of safe haven that traders flock to when they are worried about Covid cases rising; the data don’t bear that idea out.
Binance.US can grab investors’ attention with lower fees than many other cryptocurrency exchanges, but we’d recommend paying a bit more for added transparency.
Cryptocurrencies are digital currencies that are not managed by the government or any central system but are built on blockchain technology. In the last decade, cryptocurrencies have gained traction, have become more popular, and are becoming more of an option for individuals and organizations to invest in.
This is mainly because of the extreme volatility that takes place in the industry. If you’re not careful – you could lose a lot of money quickly.

The reason behind such revolutionary growth is originally the team behind this project. Its impressive growth is evident from the fact that in just 1 month of launch, it has reached 45k holders and has already paid out $8 Million in reflection to holders of its native token, $EGC. With such an outstanding track record, the project has also clinched the market cap of $600 Million, which is remarkable.
People in the crypto community say it will be the next “Shiba Inu or Safemoon” due to its tremendous growth and expected great things ahead.
The value of cryptocurrency is also driven by scarcity. This alludes to the cryptocurrency’s finite mechanism. The Bitcoin protocol sets the maximum amount of BTC that can be mined at 21 million. Therefore, as more people enter the crypto space, Bitcoin’s scarcity will inevitably increase, causing its price to increase. Some coins also use the burning mechanism to increase their value by destroying a portion of the supply.
While the recent price history suggests that a meaningful rebound is imminent, it is crucial to pay attention to Bitcoin’s interaction with the 50 four-hour moving average at $62,000. Any increase in selling pressure that leads to a break of the support level could invalidate the optimistic outlook.
You might recall that back in the very early days of Covid-19 (or just “coronavirus” as it was then known), some crypto nutters enthusiasts started getting excited about the idea that the virus would be good for bitcoin because “paper money” “might be the source of #CORONAVIRUS #SARS2 infection”. After all, “fiat is dirty”:

Ethereum price enters into price discovery mode as it continues to press on towards new all-time highs. Little exists in the form of resistance for Ethereum. Ethereum price has few, if any, resistance levels ahead. The only level nearby that might cause some selling pressure and profit-taking is the psychological number of $5,000.
