NEW YORK -- The CEO of Binance.US, the American arm of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has resigned, robbing the company of a heavyweight former regulator as it grapples with increasing scrutiny from authorities around the world.

GreatPoint Ventures confirmed to the NYT it considered investing and declined.
The price hike of Bitcoin, along with Ethereum, represents another wave of support for major cryptocurrencies as investors and crypto fans hope to usher the coin to a landmark $100,000 in value for 2022.

Functionally, most cryptocurrencies are variations on Bitcoin, the first widely used cryptocurrency.
Users must face such restrictions when using Binance. Among countries to crackdown on the company are Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Lithuania. However, many countries do have full use of Binance, and these countries present opportunities for growth in these areas for the future.
Because most cryptocurrencies aren’t regulated by national governments, they’re considered alternative currencies — mediums of financial exchange that exist outside the bounds of state monetary policy.

Users should also turn on two-factor authentication if they haven’t already done so.
