Using data from a prominent blockchain research firm, Coinmetrics.io, we explore the relationship between prices, computing power (measured by the hashrate), and network (measured by the number of unique active users). We focus on five major mineable cryptocurrencies (i.e. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, Litecoin, and Dash). In some of our test, we expand our data to include an additional 33 cryptocurrencies. Our sample period spans from 7 August 2015 to 25 January 2019.
Fig 3 shows an example wavelet coherence scalogram (the wavelet coherence scalogram for Bitcoin and Litecoin which will be analysed later). All following scalograms use the cross wavelet and wavelet coherence software provided by A. Grinsted [21].

Some major differences between Bitcoin and altcoins can be found in the blockchain itself. Some altcoins have an uncapped supply, which changes how the coins are used. Some altcoins have made the blockchain faster, which speeds up both mining and transactions.
As SafeMoon is so new to the crypto market, our SafeMoon stock forecast is very speculative. However, there are some essential pieces of information that we can feed into our analysis to arrive at logical predictions. With that in mind, let’s take a look at our SafeMoon prediction 2021 for the upcoming months: One Month – The current SafeMoon price is incredibly low, trading at $0.00000141. However, if momentum were to pick up, we could see the price head towards the recent resistance level of $0.00000333 over the next month. Three Months – It is still relatively difficult to invest in SafeMoon, so getting the liquidity for higher prices is still an issue. That being said, we estimate that SafeMoon could head towards the $0.00000500 region over the next three months. Start of 2022 – If the SafeMoon developers make true to their promises, it’ll likely increase the hype surrounding this altcoin. This could push SafeMoon into the $0.00000600 region by the beginning of 2022.
Some are curious if this meme coin will ever truly see a full Shiba and Dogecoin-like impact, although it’s already off to an impressive start.
Yet some crypto watchers have raised red flags over SafeMoon’s unusual structure. It charges a 10 per cent fee to buy tokens and another 10 per cent to sell — almost unheard of in the digital currency world. Half of these fees are paid to owners as an incentive to keep holding and the other half goes into a liquidity pool controlled by the developers. SafeMoon calls itself a DeFi token, or one that uses decentralized finance to govern functions through software, but it has a chief executive officer and chief operating officer. Critics also worry about the discretionary nature of the “manual” coin burns used to adjust its circulation. That lack of widespread adoption, plus crypto’s volatility, limits its use as a currency, says Roger Aliaga-Díaz, principal and senior economist with Vanguard Investment Strategy Group.
Although it’s theoretically possible for a new blockchain copy’s previously unverified transactions to be entirely fee-free, this almost never happens in practice.
In recent days, the company has stopped those in Singapore from making trades on their platform, reacting to a tightening in regulations locally. While Binance remains the most preferable of the two platforms currently, it is important to remember that changes such as these have an effect on which may come out on top.

When the hard fork arrived–and participants had to choose which path to take–the entire cryptocurrency market dropped. This is very likely what caused bitcoin to drop from the $6,000 range to around the $3,000-$4,000 range. Which brings us to today, with the cryptocurrency bottoming out at less than 80% of what it was a year ago.
At the moment, Binance.US officials promise that this gradual coverage is only the beginning, making it their mission to eventually include as many US states as possible.
Yet the impact on the environment of Bitcoin mining - a complicated process of minting new digital tokens - has seen Tesla withdraw this option for customers.
The long term positive coherence relationship observed between online metrics and price may be the result of another factor which we hypothesise could be technical progress. As a project makes technical progress, it is likely to have a community form around it over time, increasing online activity and also demand, and hence price, of the particular cryptocurrency. An interesting avenue of future work would be to consider the coherence between price and technical progress (via looking at each projects source code repository—these are available as cryptocurrency projects are generally open-source).
