A cryptocurrency’s blockchain is the master public ledger that records and stores all prior transactions and activity, validating ownership of all units of the currency at any given point in time.
Long-term holders, who have held their Bitcoin for more than 12 months, are reluctant to spend their coins, according to Glassnode’s “The Week On-Chain” report. Another positive is that investors continue to withdraw coins from centralized exchanges whose share of supply has dropped to a new record low at 12.9%.

Expect continued conversations about cryptocurrency regulation. Lawmakers in Washington D.C. and across the world are trying to figure out how to establish laws and guidelines to make cryptocurrency safer for investors and less appealing to cybercriminals.
Unlike traditional currencies, cryptocurrencies exist only as a shared digital record of ownership, stored on a blockchain. When a user wants to send cryptocurrency units to another user, they send it to that user’s digital wallet. The transaction isn’t considered final until it has been verified and added to the blockchain through a process called mining. This is also how new cryptocurrency tokens are usually created.
To avoid legal action, the creators dropped “West” from the name, changed the logo to a “half man, half fish hybrid” that resembles West — a biting reference to a “South Park” episode that pokes fun at West’s massive ego — and released Coinye as planned.
On the other hand, Binance.US only has U.S. customers. The size of its liquidity pool is limited to the number of U.S.-based traders. However, operating in one of the largest crypto markets in the world, Binance.US still has a large enough liquidity pool to satisfy the needs of any small-scale trader. In April 2021, the trading volume on Binance.US was more than $28 billion. Binance.US has a much smaller liquidity pool than Binance, but it is enough for all but the very largest traders.
This follows the launch of new Bitcoin futures Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) in the form of ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF, as well as similar moves from Valkyrie and Van Eck.
