Just like you shouldn’t let a price drop influence your decision to buy crypto, don’t let a sudden price increase alter your long-term investment strategy. Even more importantly, don’t start buying more crypto just because the price is rising. Always make sure your financial bases are covered — from your retirement accounts to emergency savings — before putting any extra cash into a speculative asset like Bitcoin.
Many cryptocurrencies are built on blockchain technology, which is a distributed ledger enforced by a distributed network of computers. Cryptocurrencies are distinguished from fiat currencies like the United States dollar or the British pound because any central authority does not issue them, making them potentially impervious to government intervention or manipulation.

Although analysis of a single factor and cryptocurrency combination, as above, is of interest, more general findings across multiple cryptocurrency/factor combinations can also be pursued. Fig 7 shows, for each cryptocurrency and factor combination, the mean coherence values during the bubble and non-bubble regimes. Each horizontal subplot shows a different coherence period band, from the lowest period band (2–4 days) at the top to the highest period band (256–512 days) at the bottom. As the duration of data for each cryptocurrency varies, certain ranges are left blank when that cryptocurrency does not have enough data to produce values for such bands.
We’re certainly in a much different place now than we were 12 months ago. What was a hot commodity has turned into a hot potato nobody wants to touch. Still, this almost certainly won’t be the end for bitcoin, or cryptocurrencies as a whole. Despite the realization that it was a bubble, even the toughest critics see some sort of a future.
